Juniperus grandis, known as western juniper, is a tree or tall shrub native to the Western United States. It is sometimes classified as a variety or subspecies of Juniperus occidentalis.

Description

Juniperus grandis, described by R.P. Adams in 2006, is a member of the Cupressaceae family. It is commonly referred to as western juniper, Sierra juniper, or Sierra western juniper. This species is endemic to the Western United States and is occasionally considered a taxonomic variant of Juniperus occidentalis, also known as western juniper.
