Waltheria glomerata C.Presl is a species in the Malvaceae family, commonly found in various regions of Central and South America. It is documented in several national parks and ecological areas, including Parque Nacional Natural Tinigua, Parque Nacional Natural Serranía de Chiribiquete, and other locations in Colombia. Its distribution extends to countries such as Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panamá, and Venezuela.
Description
Waltheria glomerata was first described in 1835 by C.Presl. It is native to a wide range of regions, including the departments of Boyacá, Caquetá, Guaviare, Meta, and Vaupés in Colombia. The species is also recorded in the microcuenca alta de río Tillavá and other protected areas within the Parque Nacional Natural Serranía de Chiribiquete. Its geographic range spans from Mexico to northern South America, covering the Gulf, Northwest, Southeast, and Southwest regions of Mexico, as well as Central American countries like Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panamá. It is also found in Venezuela and around Villavicencio.
