Symphyotrichum walteri, known as Walter's aster, is a flowering plant in the Asteraceae family. It is a perennial herb native to the southeastern United States, growing up to 100 centimeters tall. The plant features bluish-purple ray florets and yellow disk florets.

Description

Symphyotrichum walteri is a member of the Asteraceae family, commonly called Walter's aster. It is a perennial herb found in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. The species was described in 1995 by G.L. Nesom, based on earlier work by Alexander. It typically reaches heights of 20 to 100 centimeters and is characterized by its bluish-purple ray florets and yellow disk florets.
