Voyria flavescens
Voyria flavescens Griseb.
Voyria flavescens is a species in the Gentianaceae family, native to a wide range across Central and South America. It is found in various protected areas in Colombia, including Parque Nacional Natural Yaigojé Apaporis, Parque Nacional Natural Sierra de la Macarena, and Parque Nacional Natural Utría, as well as in multiple departments such as Amazonas, Antioquia, and others. Its distribution also extends to Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, French Guiana, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad-Tobago, and Venezuela. The species was first described in 1845 by Griseb.
Description
Voyria flavescens belongs to the Gentianaceae, a family of flowering plants commonly known as the gentian family. This species has a broad geographic distribution across tropical and subtropical regions of the Americas. In Colombia, it occurs in several natural parks and protected areas, including the Santuario de Flora y Fauna Guanentá Alto Río Fonce, and is documented in various departments such as Nariño, Putumayo, and Vaupés. The species is also present in neighboring countries, spanning from Mexico to Brazil and the Guianas. The name was first published in 1845 by the botanist Griseb.
