Diplotaxis viminea (DC.) is a member of the Brassicaceae family, native to regions including São Miguel Island, the Azores, Bulgaria, Germany, Romania, Moldova, Ukraine, and parts of North Africa and southern Europe. It is an annual herb with a self-supporting growth habit and broad leaves. The plant typically forms a basal rosette and produces flowering stems. It is commonly found in agricultural settings, particularly in fields and vineyards, where it may be regarded as a weed. The flowering period is from June to October in western Europe, though in some areas, it can bloom for up to eight months. It is known by the common name vineyard wall rocket in English.
