Arctostaphylos densiflora, known as Vine Hill manzanita, is a rare manzanita species found only in Sonoma County, California. It is restricted to a single population of 20 to 30 plants on protected land near Sebastopol, with an additional five to ten plants on private land nearby. The species grows in chaparral habitats on sandy shale soils.

Description

Arctostaphylos densiflora is a member of the Ericaceae family and is known only from a small area in Sonoma County. The species was first described in 1932 by M.S. Baker. The remaining wild plants are located on protected land managed by the California Native Plant Society and on private property within a mile of this site. Its habitat is characterized by chaparral vegetation on sandy shale soils.
