Ventilago madraspatana, described by Gaertn. in 1788, is a member of the Rhamnaceae family. It is distributed across the Andaman Is., Assam, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China South-Central, India, Jawa, Lesser Sunda Is., Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. This climbing shrub or liana is adapted to the seasonally dry tropical biome. It is traditionally used in medicine for its anti-inflammatory and potential anticancer properties.
