Vallisneria natans (Lour.) H.Hara is a species in the Hydrocharitaceae family, native to regions across the Australasian, Oriental (Indomalaya), Palaearctic, and Pacific (Oceania) zones. It is widely distributed in parts of Asia, including Assam, China (North-Central, South-Central, and Southeast), India, Iraq, Japan, Korea, Manchuria, Nepal, Primorye, Taiwan, and Vietnam. The species was formally published in 1974.

Description

Vallisneria natans belongs to the genus Vallisneria within the Hydrocharitaceae family, a group of aquatic plants. It is found in a broad geographic range spanning multiple regions in Asia. The species occurs in China across several regions, including the North-Central, South-Central, and Southeast areas. It is also present in neighboring countries such as India, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam. Its distribution extends to Iraq, Nepal, and the Russian regions of Manchuria and Primorye. The species was described and published in 1974 under the authorship of H.Hara, based on the original work by Lour.
