Uvariopsis submontana is a tree species in the Annonaceae family, endemic to Cameroon. It grows in subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and is threatened by habitat loss.

Description

Uvariopsis submontana is a tree reaching 8–25 m tall with a diameter at breast height up to 30 cm. It lacks stilt roots or buttresses. The leaves are 16–38 cm long and 5–11 cm wide, oblong to obovate, with a papyraceous to subcoriaceous texture. The species is monoecious, with unisexual flowers arranged in cauliflorous inflorescences containing up to 500 flowers. Male and female inflorescences are dimorphic, with male flowers having pedicels 25–50 mm long and female flowers with pedicels 30–60 mm long. The flowers have six perianth parts in two whorls. Uvariopsis submontana is found only in Cameroon, where it inhabits subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests. It is threatened by habitat loss.
