Ulmus castaneifolia Hemsley is a small deciduous tree native to China, commonly known as the chestnut-leafed elm or multinerved elm. It is found in broadleaved forests at elevations between 500 and 1,600 metres.

Description

Ulmus castaneifolia belongs to the genus Ulmus in the family Ulmaceae. It is distributed in South-Central and Southeast China. The species was first described in 1894. This tree is characterized by its chestnut-like leaves and is adapted to forested environments at moderate elevations.
