Tropical Pine

Pinus tropicalis is a member of the Pinaceae family, a group of coniferous trees commonly known as pines. This species is endemic to the western highlands of the island of Cuba. It is one of several pine species found in the region and is distinguished by its adaptation to tropical conditions. The species was formally published in 1885 by the botanist Morelet. Its distribution is limited to the Archipiélago de Cuba, where it plays a role in the local ecosystem.
