Tropaeolum smithii DC., a member of the Tropaeolaceae family, is a species native to several regions in South America. It is found in Parque Nacional Natural Cocuy, as well as in the departments of Boyacá, Cundinamarca, Norte de Santander, and Santander in Colombia, and extends its range to Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela. The species was first described in 1824.

Description

Tropaeolum smithii belongs to the genus Tropaeolum and is part of the Tropaeolaceae family. Its distribution spans multiple countries in northern South America, including Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela. Within Colombia, it is documented in Parque Nacional Natural Cocuy and several departments, though specific localities are not detailed. The species was formally published in 1824 by the author DC.
