Triplophyllum hirsutum is a species in the family Tectariaceae, native to several regions in South America. It was formally described in 2008 by J. Prado and R.C. Moran, based on earlier work by Holttum. The species occurs in Brazil's Northeast, North, and Southeast regions, as well as in Antioquia and Meta in Colombia, Guyana, and the Cimitarra area.

Description

Triplophyllum hirsutum is a fern species belonging to the genus Triplophyllum and the family Tectariaceae. It is distributed across parts of northern and central South America, including Brazil's Northeast, North, and Southeast regions, as well as Antioquia and Meta in Colombia, and Guyana. The species was first described in 2008 by J. Prado and R.C. Moran, who reclassified material originally studied by Holttum. This taxonomic treatment reflects the ongoing work to clarify the classification of ferns in the Tectariaceae family.
