It is found in several countries, including Portugal Continental, Algeria, the Baleares, Corse, France, Greece, Italy, Libya, Morocco, Sardegna, Sicilia, Spain, and Tunisia. The species is part of the genus Triglochin, which includes aquatic or semi-aquatic plants typically growing in wetland habitats.
