Trichoglottis orchidea is a species in the Orchidaceae family, native to several regions in Southeast Asia, including the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Cambodia, Java, Laos, Malaya, Thailand, and Vietnam. It was first described in 1972 by Garay, based on earlier work by J.Koenig.

Description

Trichoglottis orchidea belongs to the genus Trichoglottis within the Orchidaceae family, commonly known as the orchid family. This species is distributed across multiple Southeast Asian countries and island groups, including the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Cambodia, Java, Laos, Malaya, Thailand, and Vietnam. The species was formally published in 1972 by Garay, building upon the earlier taxonomic work of J.Koenig. Its presence in these regions reflects its adaptation to tropical and subtropical environments typical of the orchid family.
