Trichoglottis geminata is an orchid species in the family Orchidaceae, native to Borneo, Maluku, the Philippines, and Sulawesi. It was first described in 1905 by J.J. Smith, based on earlier work by Teijsmann and Binnendijk.

Description

Trichoglottis geminata belongs to the genus Trichoglottis within the Orchidaceae family, a group of flowering plants known for their diverse and often showy blooms. This species is distributed across several Southeast Asian islands, including Borneo, Maluku, the Philippines, and Sulawesi. The name was formally published in 1905 by botanist J.J. Smith, who revised the earlier classification by Teijsmann and Binnendijk. As a member of the Orchidaceae, it shares characteristics typical of the orchid family, such as specialized floral structures and often epiphytic or lithophytic growth habits.
