Protea nitida, known as Tree Protea, is a large, slow-growing Protea species native to South Africa. It is distinguished as one of the few Protea species that grow into trees and the only one with usable timber. Commonly referred to as wagon tree, waboom, or blousuikerbos, this plant is part of the Proteaceae family.
