Tmesipteris parva is a fern ally native to eastern Australia, found in moist eucalyptus forests and rainforests. It grows epiphytically on tree ferns.

Description

Tmesipteris parva, described by N.A.Wakef. in 1944, belongs to the family Psilotaceae. It is found in New South Wales, Tasmania, and Victoria. This species is adapted to a moist, shaded environment, typically growing on the trunks and fronds of tree ferns in subtropical and temperate rainforests. As a member of the whisk fern family, it exhibits some of the most primitive traits among vascular plants, lacking true roots and having a simple, green, photosynthetic stem structure.
