Tiliacora triandra is a flowering plant species native to Southeast Asia, particularly found in the cuisines of northeast Thailand and Laos. It is known by several local names, including bai yanang or ya nang in the Isan dialect and voar yeav in Khmer. The plant is a climber with deep green leaves and yellowish flowers and is frost-sensitive.

Description

Tiliacora triandra belongs to the Menispermaceae family and is distributed across the Andaman Islands, Assam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaya, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. It is a climbing plant characterized by its deep green foliage and yellowish flowers. The species is utilized in the culinary traditions of northeast Thailand and Laos, where it is referred to by various regional names. It is adapted to tropical climates and cannot tolerate significant frost.
