Picea polita, known as Tigertail Spruce or harimomi, is a coniferous tree in the Pinaceae family. It is native to Japan, specifically found on the Pacific Ocean side of central Honshu, as well as on the islands of Shikoku and Kyushu.

Description

Picea polita is a species of spruce in the Pinaceae family, originally described in 1855. It is commonly known as Tigertail Spruce and is also referred to as harimomi in Japanese. This conifer is native to Japan, where it grows along the Pacific Ocean side of central Honshu, as well as on the islands of Shikoku and Kyushu.
