Thyrsopteris elegans is a species of tree fern in the family Thyrsopteridaceae. It is the sole living member of the genus Thyrsopteris and is native to the Juan Fernández Islands. The species was first described in 1835 by Kunze.

Description

Thyrsopteris elegans is a tree fern found only on the Juan Fernández Islands, an archipelago located off the coast of Chile. It belongs to the family Thyrsopteridaceae and is the only species within the genus Thyrsopteris. This species was formally described in 1835 by the botanist Kunze. As an endemic species, it is not found naturally anywhere outside of the Juan Fernández Islands.
