Theobroma speciosum is an evergreen tree in the Malvaceae family, native to northern South America. It is the 35th most abundant tree species in the Amazon rainforest.

Description

Theobroma speciosum, described in 1826 by Willd. ex Spreng., is a flowering tree species in the mallow family. It is found in Brazil (Northeast, North, and West-Central regions), Bolivia, Peru, and Venezuela. This species is a significant component of the Amazon rainforest ecosystem.
