Thalia multiflora is a species in the Marantaceae family, native to parts of Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay. It was first described in 1862 by Horkel ex Körn.

Description

Thalia multiflora belongs to the Marantaceae family, commonly known as the arrowroot family. This species is distributed across the Northeast and Southeast regions of Brazil, as well as the South of Brazil and Uruguay. It was formally published in 1862 under the authorship of Horkel ex Körn. The genus Thalia includes aquatic or semi-aquatic plants, often found in wetland habitats. As a member of the Marantaceae, T. multiflora shares characteristics with other members of the family, such as large, often showy flowers and broad leaves. Its native range suggests it is adapted to the subtropical and tropical climates of South America.
