Tecticornia halocnemoides is a salt-tolerant succulent shrub native to Australia. It can grow up to fifty centimetres in height and is found in multiple states. The species was first described in 1845 under the name Arthrocnemum halocnemoides, later moved to Halosarcia in 1980, and finally placed in the genus Tecticornia in 2007.

Description

Tecticornia halocnemoides, known as shrubby samphire or grey glasswort, is a shrub in the Chenopodiaceae family. It is a salt-tolerant, succulent plant that grows as an erect or spreading shrub. The species is endemic to Australia and is distributed across New South Wales, Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria, and Western Australia. Initially published as Arthrocnemum halocnemoides by Nees in 1845, it was later reclassified into the genus Halosarcia in 1980. In 2007, it was transferred to the genus Tecticornia by K.A. Shephard and Paul G. Wilson.
