Taxillus kaempferi is a parasitic plant species in the genus Taxillus, part of the Loranthaceae family. It is found in South-Central and Southeast China, the East Himalaya, and Japan. The species was first described in 1933 by Danser, based on earlier work by DC. It parasitizes Pinus thunbergii.

Description

Taxillus kaempferi belongs to the Loranthaceae family, commonly known as the sandalwood family. It is a parasitic plant that grows on the host tree Pinus thunbergii. The species is native to regions including South-Central and Southeast China, the East Himalaya, and Japan. It was formally described in 1933 by botanist B.H. Danser, building on the initial classification by De Candolle (DC.). Taxillus kaempferi is a member of the genus Taxillus, which includes other parasitic species primarily found in Asia.
