Acer buergerianum, known as Taiwan Trident Maple, is a maple species native to eastern China, Taiwan, and Japan. It was named in honor of Dutch plant hunter J. Buerger (1804-1858). The species was first described in 1865 and belongs to the family Sapindaceae.

Acer buergerianum is a member of the genus Acer and is part of the Sapindaceae family. It is found in several regions including Taiwan, Japan, and parts of China. The species has been recorded in various locations globally, including Belgium, Korea, and parts of Central and Southeastern China. Its name commemorates the Dutch botanist J. Buerger.
