Tacca ankaranensis is a flowering plant species in the Dioscoreaceae family, native to Madagascar. It was first identified on the Ankarana massif in northern Madagascar and was formally described in 1997 by Bard.-Vauc.

Description

Tacca ankaranensis belongs to the Dioscoreaceae, or yam, family and is found exclusively in Madagascar. This species was discovered in the Ankarana massif, a region in the northern part of the island. It was scientifically described in 1997 by the botanist Bard.-Vauc. As a member of the Tacca genus, it shares characteristics with other species in the group, such as unique floral structures and adaptation to tropical environments.
