Description
Tabernaemontana alternifolia belongs to the genus Tabernaemontana within the Apocynaceae family. It is found exclusively in India. The species was initially described by Linnaeus in 1753. Taxonomic studies have explored its relationship with T. heyneana, with Middleton & Leeuwenberg proposing its rejection in 1998. However, the Committee for Spermatophyta did not endorse this recommendation in 2000, leaving the status of T. alternifolia unresolved in nomenclatural discussions.
