Description

Taxonomic studies have explored its relationship with T. heyneana, with Middleton & Leeuwenberg proposing its rejection in 1998. However, the Committee for Spermatophyta did not endorse this recommendation in 2000, leaving the status of T. alternifolia unresolved in nomenclatural discussions.
