Symphyotrichum peteroanum is a flowering plant in the Asteraceae family, native to Argentina and Chile. It is a perennial herb reaching 20 to 60 centimeters in height, with white ray florets measuring 6–8 millimeters long. The species is found in tall forests with trees over 15 meters tall, in humid montane ecosystems at elevations between 1,000 and 2,200 meters.
Description
Symphyotrichum peteroanum (Phil.) G.L.Nesom is a member of the Asteraceae family, distributed in Argentina South, Chile Central, and Chile South. This herbaceous perennial grows to a height of 20–60 cm and produces white ray florets in a single series. It is adapted to tall forest environments with tree canopies exceeding 15 meters, typically at elevations of 1,000–2,200 meters in humid montane regions. The species was formally described in 1995.
