Styloceras laurifolium is a species in the Buxaceae family, first described in 1825 by Kunth. It is native to several regions in Colombia, including Garagoa, Ramiriquí, Tibaná, Chinavita, Ciénaga, and Viracachá, as well as El Parque Nacional Natural Tatamá. Its distribution extends to Cesar, Cundinamarca, La Guajira, Quindío, and Risaralda. The species is also found in Bolivia, Ecuador, and Peru, with records in the Jardín Botánico de Bogotá and globally.

Description

Styloceras laurifolium is a member of the Buxaceae family and is part of the genus Styloceras. It is naturally distributed across various regions in Colombia, including Garagoa, Ramiriquí, Tibaná, Chinavita, Ciénaga, and Viracachá. It is also present in El Parque Nacional Natural Tatamá, as well as in the departments of Cesar, Cundinamarca, La Guajira, Quindío, and Risaralda. The species has been documented in the Jardín Botánico de Bogotá and is known to occur in Bolivia, Ecuador, and Peru. Its global presence indicates a broader ecological range beyond its native Andean habitats.
