Strombosia scheffleri is a medium-sized tree native to Tropical Africa and is occasionally cultivated as a shade tree in coffee and cocoa plantations. It is a member of the Olacaceae family.

Description

Strombosia scheffleri, described by Engl. in 1909, is a tree species in the genus Strombosia of the family Olacaceae. It is found in several countries across Tropical Africa, including Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Congo, Gabon, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zaïre, and Zimbabwe. The tree is sometimes used in agricultural settings as a shade provider for coffee and cocoa crops.
