Strombosia pustulata is a tree species in the family Olacaceae, native to the rainforests of tropical West and Central Africa. It is known by several local names, including itako in Nigeria, afina in Ghana, poé in Côte d'Ivoire, and mba esogo in Equatorial Guinea.

Description

Strombosia pustulata, described by Oliv. in 1894, is part of the genus Strombosia within the Olacaceae family. The species is distributed across several African countries, including Cabinda, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Congo, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Zaïre, Base-Guinée, Guinée forestière, and Moyenne-Guinée. It is commonly found in the rainforest ecosystems of these regions.
