Streblus elongatus is a species in the Moraceae (mulberry) family, native to southeastern Asia. It is found in the Nicobar Islands, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo, and Sulawesi. The species has a complex taxonomic history, with multiple descriptions by different botanists leading to several synonyms.

Description

Streblus elongatus (Miq.) Corner is a tree species within the Moraceae family. It is native to regions in southeastern Asia, including the Nicobar Islands, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo, and Sulawesi. The species was first described under the genus Sloetia as Sloetia elongata and has since been reclassified under the genus Streblus. Due to multiple independent descriptions by various botanists, it is associated with several synonyms. The species was formally published in 1962 under its current scientific name.
