Coprosma foetidissima, known as stinkwood or hūpiro in Māori, is a shrub or small tree in the Rubiaceae family. Native to New Zealand, it is found on the North and South Islands as well as Stewart Island. It is distinguished by the foul, cabbage-like odor released when its leaves are crushed.

Coprosma foetidissima, described by J.R.Forst. & G.Forst. in 1776, is a member of the Rubiaceae family. It is native to the North and South Islands of New Zealand and the Antipodean Islands. This plant grows in a range of habitats, from coastal to sub-alpine forest and shrubland. It is commonly known as stinkwood due to the strong, unpleasant odor emitted when its leaves are crushed.
