Gymnocalycium denudatum, commonly known as spider cactus, is a species in the Cactaceae family. It was first described in 1844 by (Link & Otto) Pfeiff. ex Mittler. This cactus is native to the regions of Brazil South, Argentina Northeast, and Uruguay. It is part of the genus Gymnocalycium, which includes a variety of small to medium-sized cacti.

Description

Gymnocalycium denudatum is a member of the Cactaceae family and is found in the southern part of Brazil, the northeastern part of Argentina, and Uruguay. The species was published in 1844 under the authorship of (Link & Otto) Pfeiff. ex Mittler. Known as spider cactus in English, this plant is part of the Gymnocalycium genus, which is characterized by its globular or cylindrical shapes and typically small flowers. Its natural distribution spans across parts of South America, where it grows in arid to semi-arid environments typical of cactus habitats.
