Botrychium spathulatum is a member of the fern family Ophioglossaceae and is part of the genus Botrychium. The species was first published in 1990 by W.H. Wagner. It is distributed across several Canadian provinces and U.S. states, including Alberta, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Northwest Territories, Ontario, Quebec, Yukon, and in the United States in Vermont, Alaska, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, and Wisconsin. Commonly referred to as Spathulate Botrychium, it is a native plant found in these northern regions.
