Description

Sceptridium biternatum (Savigny) Lyon, known as Sparse-Lobed Grapefern, is part of the Ophioglossaceae family. It is a perennial species native to regions including Vermont, USA. It typically grows in forested and open habitats, such as hardwood and pine woods, fields, and roadsides. The species is dependent on a specific mycorrhizal relationship in the soil to thrive. First described in 1905, it is one of several grape ferns in the genus Sceptridium.
