Houstonia micrantha, commonly known as southern bluet, is a species in the Rubiaceae family. It was first described in 1975 by Terrell, with the original material attributed to Shinners. This species is native to the southeastern and south-central United States.

Houstonia micrantha is a member of the Rubiaceae family, a group of flowering plants commonly known as the coffee family. It is one of several species in the genus Houstonia, which are small, herbaceous plants known for their delicate blue flowers. The species is distributed across Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas. It was formally published in 1975 by Terrell, based on earlier work by Shinners. The plant is known by the common name southern bluet in English.
