Sonchus pustulatus is a perennial species in the Asteraceae family, native to Morocco, Algeria, and Spain. It was first described in 1865 by Willk.

Description

Sonchus pustulatus is a perennial plant with a stem 15-30 cm tall, branched, and woody with a greyish-yellow bark at the base. The lower leaves are few, while the upper leaves are clustered beneath the inflorescence, white-tomentose at the base, and pinnatisect with ovate to elliptical lobes. The involucral bracts number around 24. The ligules are approximately twice as long as the corolla-tube. The achenes are 3.5-5 x 1.5 mm in size, narrowly rectangular or elliptical, often curved, with slight rugosity between the ribs. The pappus is about 8 mm long, with most long hairs deciduous and the short cottony hairs persistent.
