Small Cow-Wheat

Melampyrum sylvaticum is a member of the Orobanchaceae family and is commonly referred to as Small Cow-Wheat. It is a herbaceous plant found in various parts of Europe, including Norway, Denmark, Austria, the Baltic States, Belarus, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Finland, and parts of Russia. The species was first published by Linnaeus in 1753. It is part of the genus Melampyrum, which includes several similar species. The plant is known for its small, yellowish-green flowers and is typically found in woodland and grassland habitats.
