Flueggea acidoton, known as simpleleaf bushweed, is a flowering plant in the family Phyllanthaceae. It is a shrub or small tree native to the Caribbean and parts of the southern United States. It thrives in seasonally dry tropical environments.

Description

Flueggea acidoton (L.) G.L.Webster is a species in the family Phyllanthaceae, commonly called simpleleaf bushweed. It is found in the conterminous 48 United States, as well as in the Caribbean, including the Bahamas, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, Leeward Is., and Puerto Rico. This shrub or small tree grows in seasonally dry tropical habitats. The species was formally described in 1984.
