Brunia laevis, known as silver brunia, is a shrub native to the Western Cape in South Africa. It is part of the fynbos vegetation and is classified within the genus Brunia of the Bruniaceae family. The species was first described in 1794 by Thunb.

Description

Brunia laevis is a member of the Bruniaceae family and is found in the Cape Provinces. It is placed in Brunia subg. Brunia based on morphological characteristics such as anther morphology, 5- to 10-colporate pollen grains, exserted stamens, and terminal inflorescences. Molecular data were not available for this species in recent taxonomic studies. The species is part of the fynbos biome and is endemic to the Western Cape.
