Callitriche truncata, known as Short-Leaved Water-Starwort, is an aquatic subshrub in the Plantaginaceae family. It is native to the Mediterranean Basin, including southern Europe from Spain to Greece and North Africa from Morocco to Libya. Its range also extends to Turkey, Lebanon, Syria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Ireland, western Europe, eastern European Russia, and the western Himalayas. The species was first described in 1826 by Guss.
Description
Callitriche truncata is a member of the genus Callitriche and is found in various regions including the Palaearctic, Flanders, Global, Araucanía Region, Region of Magallanes and Antártica Chilena, Belgium, Flemish Region, SE, Algeria, Argentina South, Baleares, Chile Central, Chile South, Corse, East Aegean Is., Ecuador, France, Great Britain, Greece, Ireland, Italy, and other parts of Europe and the Mediterranean. It is a small aquatic plant typically found in freshwater habitats.
