Vittaria lineata is a member of the Pteridaceae family and is commonly called Shoestring Fern. It is an epiphytic fern that thrives in moist environments across the New World tropics and subtropics. Its distribution includes regions in the United States such as Florida, as well as parts of South and Central America, including Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, and Cuba. The species was first described in 1793.
