Serapias olbia Verg.
Serapias olbia is a species in the Orchidaceae family, first described in 1908 by Verg. It is found in regions including Corsica, France, and Italy, and is likely a hybrid between two other species.
Description
Serapias olbia grows in habitats such as maritime sands and lake margins. It features 3 to 4 tubers, with one sessile and the others on stolons. The plant produces a short inflorescence bearing 2 to 6 pale violet to purple, dark-veined flowers. The bracts are as long as or slightly longer than the flowers. The outer perianth segments resemble those of species 5 but are colored pale violet to purple. The labellum is similar to that of species 5 but is approximately twice as long and has a hairy, dull red to purple epichile.
