Securidaca retusa is a species in the family Polygalaceae, native to northern and central South America. It is found in Brazil, Colombia, French Guiana, Guyana, and Venezuela, particularly in the Amazon region and surrounding areas.

Description

Securidaca retusa, described by Benth. in 1850, is a plant species within the genus Securidaca. It occurs in the Amazonian regions of Brazil, including the northern and west-central areas, as well as in the Amazonas and Vaupés departments of Colombia. It is also present in the Parque Nacional Natural Cahuinarí and the Guainía department near Inírida in Colombia. The species extends into French Guiana, Guyana, and Venezuela. It is part of the Polygalaceae family, a group of flowering plants commonly known as the milkwort family.
