Schinus montana is a species in the genus Schinus, belonging to the family Anacardiaceae. It was first described by the botanist Engl. in 1881 and is native to Central Chile.

It is part of the Schinus genus, which includes several species of flowering plants commonly referred to as pepper trees or false peppers.
