Paeonia peregrina is an erect, herbaceous perennial that grows in regions including HR, SK, Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Romania, Turkey-in-Europe, Turkey, Ukraine, and Yugoslavia. The plant is characterized by its deeply divided, 9-lobed leaves and large, red flowers that measure 10–13 cm in diameter. The flowers have prominent yellow stamens and bloom in spring. It belongs to the Paeoniaceae family and was first published by Mill. in 1768.
