Geum quellyon, known as scarlet avens, is a perennial herb in the Rosaceae family. It is native to central and southern Chile and has been introduced to regions such as Belgium, Bolivia, and the United Kingdom. First planted in the UK in 1826, it is also found in other parts of Europe and South America.

Description

Geum quellyon, or scarlet avens, is a member of the rose family (Rosaceae). This herb is indigenous to central and southern Chile but has been introduced to several other regions, including Belgium, the Netherlands, France, the United Kingdom, and parts of South America such as Bolivia. It was first cultivated in the UK in 1826. The species is also present in NO, SE, and other European locations. The plant is known for its herbaceous growth and is sometimes referred to as Chilean avens or Grecian rose.
