Santolina virens, known as green lavender cotton, is a flowering plant in the Asteraceae family. It is native to Spain, France, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Ukraine, and the North Caucasus. The species is part of the Santolina chamaecyparissus complex and has a history of nomenclatural challenges.

Description

Santolina virens is a member of the Asteraceae family and is found in several European and western Asian regions. The species has been subject to taxonomic confusion since its initial description by Linnaeus. It is now recognized as part of the Santolina chamaecyparissus species complex. The plant is commonly referred to as green lavender cotton.
